I was lucky enough last week to get shoutouts for my blog from 3 fellow bloggers – Sandi at http://ahhsome.wordpress.com/; Laura at http://tinkerbelle86.wordpress.com/; and Sophia at http://ravenwavesblog.wordpress.com/. Please check out their blogs, I love reading them everyday and I hope you do too!
It got me thinking about the whole blogging experience and how it is changing the way I spend my time. I’m really enjoying being part of this creative, supportive and inspiring world. I love the thrill of getting an idea for a post, I enjoy reading what people have to say in their comments on my posts or on their own blogs, it’s wonderful when you know you’re not alone in your thoughts, especially the ones you’ve always been embarrassed to admit to anybody 🙂
I am amazed at how blogging has changed the way I spend my days now. I was never a big Facebook user, sorry I find it quite dull so I was never someone who obsessively went online or checked their phone. Now I am!
I usually write my posts or set them to appear in the morning, around 9-10am UK time. There are some posts from the previous day and a couple from the morning for me to read. As the day moves on, there are more posts and people reading my posts as the world wakes up. A lot of bloggers seem to be American so by early afternoon their morning posts appear.
I find myself checking throughout the day when I have a break at work to see who has posted or commented and read and comment myself as soon as I can. Evening comes and things die down a little usually. When I wake up though, bloggers in other parts of the world who wait until the evenings to get online, have written posts or comments and the whole process starts again.
PHEW. (for another debate on obsessive blogging go here: http://lkramer14.wordpress.com/2011/03/10/a-healthy-obsession/)
I’m really enjoying the way blogging is opening me up to new people and experiences. Writing is so often seen as a solitary pastime but we are all sharing it. And that is pretty amazing if you ask me!
When do you blog? When do you read other blogs? Do you have a set blogging day?
