And the award goes to …

Yay my first ever blogging award, I feel so proud 🙂 Huge thanks to Megan over at Maggie Mae’s Days for giving me this award!

Okay here are the rules of acceptance:

<<The Versatile Blogger Rules>>
1. Thank the person who awarded you and link back to them in your post.
2. Tell 7 Random facts about yourself.
3. Pass the award on to 15 new found bloggers.
4. Contact each blogger you want to pass the award on to and let them know you’ve done so, and let the giver of your award know you accept it… or not.

Here are my 7 random facts:

1. I have a phobia of fireworks. They terrify me and have since I was little and went to my first firework show. If I had a past life, I think an explosion must have killed me. I don’t even like party poppers, balloons or champagne popping because they make me jump so much!

2. I don’t think I could live without my GHD hair straighteners. I have really thick hair that has a tendency to frizz and these were a fab invention for it! Yay for GHDs 🙂

3. I am very clumsy and accident prone, likely to hit door frames when I walk through them or bash my knee against tables. This morning, I jabbed my thumb with a fork. Yes really.

4. I made my first visit to Disneyland in 2008 aged 25 and I loved it! I totally pushed kids out of the way to get my photo with all the characters and almost screamed when I saw Micky and Minnie. I love Disney and my film is Beauty and the Beast.

5. I enjoy visiting stately homes and castles / palaces. This probably stems from loving Jane Austen and watching Pride and Prejudice – the BBC series – made me want to visit homes like that. I’ve steadily visited them over the years, trying to go to one every summer.

6. When I was younger I was obsessed with Dawson’s Creek and I own the DVDs now. I loved the angst and Joshua Jackson was one of my first celeb crushes. I now love him in Fringe so he’s been my longest relationship 🙂

7. One of my fave holidays has been in NYC. I went first aged 14 and the second time in 2008. I feel like I know the city so well from movies and TV shows and enjoy all the shops, amazing buildings, the park and big food portions. I’d like to visit at Xmas time next and see all the lights.

Phew done! And now the next step is to pass the award on to my fave bloggers.

Megan and I have similar tastes and she has already passed the award on to some of my fave blogs (Tinkerbelle86′s Blog; This Italian Family; Simple Moments-Living Life to the Fullest ; Melissa’s Meanderings ) so here’s some other of my fave places to visit, I hope they will proudly accept this award …

Please forgive me if you’re not on the list, I just wanted to put on the ones that I visit everyday and who visit mine to thank them for all their support and excellent posts. I appreciate EVERYONE who reads mine and stops by and there are far too many great blogs out there to include here 🙂

So there we go, my first acceptance speech. I am so grateful for all your support guys!

  1. Congratulations on your well earned award, and thanks for handing it on to me. I was a little disappointed because I had every intention of handing you an award this morning and being the first one to give you one. I’ll still do it (although I have yet to write the post). I don’t think it comes with any requirements, but I wanted to pass it on because I truly believe it suits you. (And, after reading your list of 7 random facts I think you and I are twins separated by years and countries.) So, today you are a double award recipient, now receiving the coveted One Lovely Blog Award! Enjoy. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-vwdAc7uZvYw/TY0xYxqz7VI/AAAAAAAAAPs/rqwgUUIXf-I/s1600/onelovelyblogaward.jpg

  2. You are very welcome Vicky! Very cool that it was your first award as well 🙂 Yay! Ok so I have a great disdain for fireworks too and may as well have two left feet also! Girl, too funny the similarities 🙂 Of course I have a story to go along with it… You should know that I have a story for everything by now! LOL. The whole fireworks thing started because of a firework gone mad. It went all crazy, hit the tree above us and came down and burned me right on my neck… I was probably about 7 or 8 at the time… been afraid of them ever since. While they look very pretty in the sky, keep ’em far far away. I don’t have as much of a problem with professional fireworks displays as they’re usually so grand that there is no chance of them “getting” me but it’s the little rinky dink ones that people (illegallY) set off on their own.

    • I know and now I have two in one day yay! Oh no poor you, that sounds horrible. My fear is the noise, I think I have a nervous disposition so I’m bad at professional and hone ones. I stay in on Bonfire night with all the pets 🙂

      • Hey, I just realized that you’ve been to NYC more than I have and I’m in the states! I only went one time when I was in high school and it was a school trip. I so badly want to go again! Hopefully sometime I’ll get there again… it’s one of my things on my list ( to catch a couple shows there).

      • How far away is it from you? America is so big I think some flights take you guys as long as it does for us to get to some places! I hope you get to see it again 🙂

  3. I can not believe this is only your first award! (actually 2 now!) If I had 10 awards to forward, they would most certainly come your way.

I cannot get by without my daily dose of Little Miss Everything and am very pleased to see your daily comments, as well. **oh, hugs!**

Thank you for extending the award to me. **Jumping up and down/clapping my hands…stubbing my toe…the broken one…screaming…waking husband** “I’m a winner!” and he has asks me to be a quieter winner.

I LOVED that you pushed everyone out of your way to see Minnie Mouse. That picture rocks! Too bad we didn’t know each other then, as Disneyland is basically down the street from us!

P.S. Did you notice on the “Versatile blogger” award plaque, one of the words in the background says “sunshine” or a portion of it…so someone else is sending sunshine to you! Oddly, it just kind of jumped out at me!

    • Aw thanks Sandi, I’m so pleased you enjoy my posts as much as I enjoy yours! You deserve the award, embrace it (but make sure you don’t hurt yourself in the process 🙂 ) You’re so cute! Hugs and kisses all round I think.
Actually I went to Disney in Paris, I wish I could come to your one, if I ever do I shall drop in. How jealous am I that you live so close to it?!! Lucky lady 🙂
I need some sunshine today, it’s lacking over here so yay for all the sunshine 🙂

  4. Hey!! I’m one of the clumsiest people too! Haha! I have so many bruises right now it’s crazy! Thanks for giving me this award! I actually already did it before, but thank you so so much!!! 🙂 Love your blog! Seriously, we would totally be friends if we lived closer!!!

  5. Congratulations on your award(s)!! And yay, thanks for the nomination!!! That’s my first award too… 😀 woohoo!
Hehe I’m also really clumsy, always stumbling and bumping my toes… Have to look out so my excitement here over the nomination doesn’t translate into a bumped head or something… 😉
and I am with you on the Joshua Jackson obsession too, he was(is) so cute!

  6. Hey thanks for tagging me, I appreciate it 🙂

    A) I love your Disney enthusiasm. I would love to see a video of you pushing kids over.
    B) I heart Dawsons Creek. I didnt start watching it until my last yr in college but quickly become obsessed. Team Pacey all the way!! I once dated a guy who looked like Joshua Jackson and he was a stoner so that turned me off but continued to date him for the lookalike factor.
    C) I want to start saying holiday instead of vacation. I think it makes me sound posh, get it, British slang??! Crack. Myself. Up.

  7. Congratulations on the much deserved award! I love coming to your blog, you are funny, entertaining and I love the way you write about stuff.
I enjoyed reading 7 random things about you (how on earth did you manage to stab yourself with a fork?) Don’t worry about the clumsiness, I think we all have that in us, being covered in bruises myself! It’s nice to know a little more about you

  8. Congrats Vix! And OMG, OMG, OMG I’m in the list!!! Thank you thank you thank you……you made my day! I can’t stop grinning LOL! Number 4 is my favourite fact about you. I was exactly the same when I first went to Disneyland in Tokyo last year and got all jumpy when I saw Mickey haha! It feels good to be a kid 🙂
