Dream a little dream

Reading this post over at Bonnie’s blog prompted me to think about dreams. She found a great site where you can interpret your dreams for free (

I recently had a dream that I was pregnant. This is what it means apparently –

To dream that you are pregnant, symbolizes an aspect of yourself or some aspect of your personal life that is growing and developing. You may not be ready to talk about it or act on it.  This may also represent the birth of a new idea, direction, project or goal.

The dream was so realistic and vivid. I’ve never thought too much about my dreams, often I dream about people I know or things that happened in the day and I can pinpoint how it slipped into my subconscious. This one was different. I wasn’t talking or thinking about having babies. So why did it pop into my dream world?

Looking at the interpretation, I wonder if it was connected to my writing journey. Maybe developing my writing is my new project and goal, the baby I’m developing inside me. If so, I hope the birth comes soon. Alternatively, you could say blogging is giving me nightmares 🙂

I have a feeling this site could become a new obsession. I wonder what symbolises winning the lottery?

Any crazy dreams lately? What did they mean?

  1. I dream so many wild ones, so I am going to check out that site. I’m always curious about it too. Like with guys, does it mean something. Hmmm…as for babies, I think someone mentioned it in a comment to you yesterday so maybe you had babies on the subliminal mind.

      1. I think mostly dreams are your subconscious trying workout your problems in its own way. Hmmm….couple of days ago, then no baby talk then. I don’t know how true any dream analysis is, but I guess we can just think of it as fun. Except for those vivid ones, that you think means something and you can’t forget. I have those too. For some reason I think they mean something.

      2. Yeah I don’t think they’re always meant to make sense or mean something, just your brain sorting but nice to imagine one of the good ones might come true!

  2. err. just went on there. Have had dreams about travelling recently (jersey, US, scotland(!!)) – To dream that you are traveling, represents the path toward your life goals. It also parallels your daily routine and how you are progressing along. Alternatively, it signifies a desire to escape. If your travels come to an end, then it symbolizes successful completion of your goals.
To dream that you are traveling in a car filled with people, signifies that you will make new and fun friends and exciting adventures.

abraod: To dream of being or going abroad, indicates unbalance and chaos in your current situation and condition. Consequently, your dream may represent your need for a change in scenery or a desire to escape from a current situation. You need to make some drastic changes in your life. Alternatively, the dream may suggest that you need to expand your horizons or experience a new sense of spirituality.

although I DO forget my dreams when I wake up… and the above confuses me so I don’t go into it much!!!

  3. Er.. I woke the other night and apparently told OH I had to get back to sleep asap because I was having a rather ‘nice’ dream… I have no memory of it at all.. or the conversation I had! :-$

  4. Oh gosh, I have crazy dreams all the time! The other night I dreamt about being at a party at my ex’s house with two of my best friends. I remember it getting busted and me waving to the cops haha!! No clue what that one means! I’ve had one where I was pregnant before too…not a dream though. It was a nightmare!

  5. Hehe, I love wild dreams. I’m other people, in other cities, other worlds, doing different things. Sometimes they’re recurrent, sometimes not. I can redirect a dream too if I don’t like where it’s going, LOL!

  6. I have the WEIRDEST dreams I’ve ever heard of. None of them ever makes sense. The other day I dreamed I was standing in line at Walmart with this guy in my dorm complex who I don’t really know. The past like 4 weeks I’ve been having uber bizarre dreams each night! I just don’t know why…

      1. Yeah I don’t really remember most of what I’ve dreamed the past few weeks just that they were super strange… and a lot of them incorporated Doctor Who in them 🙂

  7. I dreamt last night that I owned 18 hockey rinks in the same arena, then my alarm went off, I hit snooze and the dream continued, I hit snooze another 3 or 4 times and this continued. The dream was kind of boring, but it had shades of happiness and overburden. I think it’s either about the music festival I’m volunteering for(which has multiple venues) or my life in general (having too much going on).

  8. Great post! Dreams tend to have common themes running through them, regardless of our individual differences. I had a dream where a scientist was trying to mutate me into a strange creature! I think we all have an unconscious side that needs to be heard, and writing down and interpreting dreams is just the start of that. Thanks!

    1. Thanks and welcome! That was a crazy dream and rather scary. Lots if people keep dream diaries but it’s rare I remember them to keep one, probably too deep in sleep 😉

  9. Hmmmmm. I’ll have to check out that website… The other night I had 3 nightmares pretty much back to back. 1.) someone broke into my apartment 2.) my mom’s house caught on fire and 3.) my sister was in a bad car accident. ALL in one night! I woke up from one and fell back to sleep to another. WEIRD! Didn’t eat anything weird or too later. I dunno what the deal was!

  10. I always have weird dreams, like really, really weird dreams such as Alec Baldwin trying to murder me. But the last dream I was able to get some kinda of meaning from that site was my friends boyfriend driving me to Target on his motorcycle then he bought me Sweidhs Fish and Us Weekly. When I looked up motorcycle it showed this:

“To see or ride a motorcycle in your dream, symbolizes your desire for freedom and need for adventure. You may be trying to escape from some situation or some other responsibility in your waking life.”

    Yep, seems about right.

  11. I often dream that I am pregnant! Looked it up the first time and was relieved to see that it meant growth and new beginnings and not actually becoming pregnant 😉
The other night I dreamt that I was loading stuff into the dishwasher (I don’t even have a dishwasher!), but just piling everything on so I had to take it all out and organize it into the dishwasher again…
This site you pointed towards (thanks for the link by the way) says that “To dream that you are washing dishes, suggests that you are moving on and planning for the next thing that comes your way”…which is true. Hope that doing it properly (loading it twice) is a good sign 😉
