Catch up

The weekend started off well as I got a request from an agent to read my full manuscript yay! Cross all your fingers for me please πŸ™‚

Then I woke up with a cold and sore throat and felt pretty miserable but I did drag myself out of the house to see Breaking Dawn at the cinema. I’m really glad I did because it cheered me up, I loved the film, it was so tense even though I knew what was coming, you could hear a pin drop in the cinema. The wedding was gorgeous too and Bella looked stunning. I think it might be my favourite of the films so far!

Sunday was a strange day. We had misty weather that made everything look murky and creepy. It actually reminded me of Forks in Twilight. It’s amazing how weather and setting can really affect mood. It was the kind of day you could have been stalked by a vampire but luckily I stayed in the warm house and curled up on the sofa instead.

This was the view outside my window:

As I felt too poorly to even open my computer, I missed my Sunday Songs post yesterday so here’s my selection for this week. I hope you enjoy!

Slow Moving Millie – Please let me get what I want

Inara George – It’s raining

Rebecca Ferguson – Nothing real but love

How were your weekends?

  1. That’s such exciting news, Vicky. Everything that can be crossed is crossed for you. Hope is a wonderful thing. Maybe your luck could run off on me (but I guess I actually have to do something for that to work).

  2. Ohhhh… fingers crossed for you Vix, that’s a good sign!! I can’t wait to see Breaking Dawn, so glad to hear your great review!! I’m sure I’ll get lost in the moment when I see it too. πŸ™‚

  3. yay congrats on the agent!

I prefer the Smiths version of that song, but I’m being biased as I’m a huge Morrissey fan! πŸ˜›

And rebecca ferguson was fab on X Factor yesterday, but Little Mix stole the show for me!!! The. Best. Performance. Of. The. Series. It’s on wordshaker if you’ve missed it! πŸ™‚

  4. Wow, I’m excited for you (and jealous πŸ™‚

How long did it take you to complete this book? (first draft? number of rewrites? months- year?). Can I ask if its young-adult paranormal/fantasy or contemporary? Word count? SO sorry for the ??? , but I’m learning and curious.

  5. Congratulations, Ms. Vix! Keep us posted on the success and release…. surely both are pending.

I hope you feel better soon. Thank you for sharing the songs. I quite enjoy Slow Moving Mille’s cover of the Smith’s song.

  6. Oh hope you’re feeling better! I’m looking forward to watching that on DVD when it comes out.

I spent Saturday walking around the hell that is Cribbs Causeway ( big shopping mall ) doing some Christmas shopping – more importantly I found the wedding ring I want. πŸ™‚

    Good luck with your manuscript

  7. Inara George is now on my list of artists to look up. I really like that song. πŸ™‚

My weekend was nice. Nothing crazy. Babe and I slept in, went and got haircuts and lunch, then headed back home for movie watching.

  8. Congratulations and I loved the songs! For my weekend I slept most of the time after coming home from college! My staying up late every night has caught up to me! Thank goodness for breaks! πŸ™‚

  9. Consider my fingers crossed!

My weekend was . . . well, I’m guessing it wasn’t too fantastic, based on the fact I can’t actually remember it! I did get a pair of boots, though, so that’s something. πŸ™‚

  10. Consider my fingers and toes to be crossed for you! I really hope everything goes well with the agent :]

On Friday I actually watched Breaking Dawn with my friends and wow, it’s hands down the best movie that they’ve made out of the whole saga! I’m already anxious to watch the second part of it now and I have to wait another year! I think the suspense will kill me, even though I’ve already read the book about a million times haha. Then for the rest of the weekend and this week I’ve been studying like a crazy person for my last exams that I have tomorrow! I just want to get them over so I can stop panicking! Haha.

I hope you can get better soon so you can go and run through the creepy woods without a care in the world! :]
