Achievements, blogging, Writing

Health warning for this post: gushing is included!

Firstly, I want to say a big thank you to three wonderful bloggers who passed me the Versatile blogger award recently – August McLaughlin , Danielle aka AHappyPeach and Mommy needs a Pinot.

August is a new blogging friend and a great writer, I can’t wait to read more amazing posts from her. Mommy needs a pinot is hilarious and I’m sure she only likes me as I’m British 🙂 Danielle has been a long time blogging buddy and has given me tons of suppport. I almost cried when I read her sweet note along with the award:

“Victoria/Vicky/Vix is just such a fabulous person. She was one of the first people who I met through blogging. She’s a great gal and aspiring writer. And I am so proud of her, she’s taken her first step into personal branding, she’s got her own domain name. There will come a day when I can say I knew her when.”

In fact, I consider myself a really lucky blogger in the community I’ve built up here. I’ve had such amazing support from you guys! In honour of that, I have added the awards I’ve had to the bottom of the right side bar so they can displayed in all their glory 🙂 Thanks to everyone who has passed me an award, I really appreciate it!

As an aspiring author, I’ve also been touched by how much support I’ve had from other writers. There really is a great online community out there for us, which helps as it’s such a tough industry to break into. I’ve had some great advice and encouragement from both unpublished and publsihed writers and it helps to feel part of a team.

How has the blogging / writing community helped you?

  1. I love the blogging community! They (well most of them!) give you so much support. I just need a heap of support as I’ll be self-publishing my book in a matter of months!! xx

  2. Although I’m no aspiring author, I’m extremely appreciative of my tight-knit blogging community. Not only have I learned a great deal from them, but my circle has provided much support during both the ups and downs – it moves me to tears to even write about it. Big hugs and many thanks, Victoria. 🙂

  3. What i love the most about blogging community is that it lets all of us connect and share our stories and most importantly become friends. I was stuck at home for months without much company and my blog and others bloggers became the the thing I looked forward to everyday.

  4. I have been so, so grateful for the support I’ve received when writing about raw, hard topics. That support has enabled me to touch on even harder topics, knowing that the words will be met with kindness and understanding, and in so doing set free things that really needed to be set free.

It’s a year Saturday since I started blogging, and I’m thankful that it’s been so very much more than I ever expected!

  5. I love the blogging and writing community. Also, the readers. Just the other day I got the BEST email ever from a reader who’d read my book. I’m going to blog on it soon but I tell ya, the support and encouragement I got from that quick, short email will last me for weeks. Months. Heck, even years.

I don’t think anyone (even me) understands how much it means to the person on the receiving end of an encouraging email.

Love this community! Love the support!!

  6. That is awesome! Congratulations! The blogging community has changed my outlook on writing and writers. There is sooo much creativity out there, and I am just honored to be able to read some of the brilliant stories written as well as any best-seller. I may not be focused on my writing, but I sure enjoy the fruits of others. Thank-you for that!

  7. This is so great! I love the blogging community too! I don’t have a huge amount of readers but I love every single one i do have and I consider many of them to me by friends! I always look forward to each new post you guys publish so I can read your thoughts on a variety of subjects. Plus its cool to have friends around the world like this! The blogging community is awesome. Congrats on the awards! You deserved them! Your blog is awesome!

  8. Everyone’s so supportive. I’m grateful for all those who read my blog and make comments and I try to reciprocate as best as I can. 🙂

  9. We have a fantastic blogging community, I have learned so much since I’ve been here, and there is always someone ready to give support and help when we need it.
Congrats on all your awards – you deserve each and every one!

  10. Blogging has helped me become more comfortable to talk/write how I’m feeling at the time because I’m generally one of those people that keep it locked away inside but blogging and everyone involved has started to change that :] And the group of people who take the time to read my blog always give me a little confidence boost when they comment on my posts :]

  11. Thanks for the warm shout out! And congrats on all of your awards. 🙂

I’m blown away by the support and camaraderie in the blogosphere… Far less caddy than many real-world circles and loads of fun to frolic among. Glad you’re benefiting, too!
