Hey, Vicky. Thanks for having me here today!! I’m super excited to share my big cover reveal with you all!

So much has led up to this point, and it mostly feels like a dream to be honest with you.

Way back when I first contracted Wasteland (which released in September 2011) I never dreamed I’d have a second book coming out just eight months later…let alone five by the time August 2013 rolls around.

It’s a total dream.

But I do have to tell you, getting the cover is a SUPER FUN part of the process! I always wonder what the publisher/artists are going to come up with. Wasteland’s cover turned out so well, I was thinking, “Gosh, how will they ever come close to it?”

But they did!!

They did a great job with Awaited. I love the colors and the mysteriousness of the whole thing.

All the time I spent pouring over submissions, contracts, edits, tweaking, fine-tuning…it was SOOO worth it. I have to tell you, I’m so thankful for Crescent Moon Press. Not only for their talented artists, but their willingness to work closely with the author on their cover.

Yep. They talked with me about it. Kept me in the loop of things. Sure, they have final say on everything, but I can honestly tell they cared what I thought. Wanted me to be happy with the cover.

This whole journey has been absolutely amazing. I’m not saying it’s been perfect and free from bumps, but really, what part of life is ever smooth as glass and problem free, right?

Whether you’re a writer or not, press on toward your goals, my friends. The journey is the best part of it all.

Thanks for sharing part of this my journey with me!

The voice is a powerful thing…

 Synopsis from Goodreads:

Russell Leonard is a centuries-old Guardian who’s lost faith in his purpose. So when he’s charged with procuring the first female Guardian in over two centuries, he can only hope it’s the red-headed beauty who’s been haunting his dreams for months. And if it is, he intends to claim her as his. But when he finds his dream woman, Annabelle is mute and bears no Guardian’s Mark.

He soon realizes she’s been tainted by an ancient evil. Russell must somehow release the secrets trapped within this delicate, mute beauty, to help her tap into the only weapon powerful enough to silence a millennia-old demon—her voice.

  1. Bad, bad, bad girl 😀
I went straight to Amazon and bought the 1st one for my Kindle, I know I don’t get to see the lovely covers but I do get to read it right now! ( Well on the train when I finish work ).
Love the cover of the new book – good luck with it all.

    • Hi, egills! Awesome. I hope you enjoy the story. I really enjoyed writing about David, my 400 year-old half-demon in Wasteland. And I’m super excited for Russell’s story to come out in May!! 🙂

      • I just had to say, I started reading your book Saturday morning and I finished it just before 3pm – thoroughly enjoyed it. Thought the characters were fab, really well written and so easy to get lost in it. I was even more impressed that the grammar on the Kindle was excellent – normally it gets lost in conversion ( I’ve read a few David Eddings books on Kindle and was appalled by the bad grammar ).

I can’t wait for the next book to come out. 😀

    • Thanks, Egills. I’m so glad you enjoyed the story!!! Thanks for taking the time to make a comment here! I appreciate hearing from people who’ve read the story! 🙂 Have a super day!

  2. Sounds like a rockin’ rush of a story with intrigue! Love that it is about emancipating her voice AS the power . . . and I gather his as well. Looking forward to it!

      • Thank you, mystereum!!!! Just wait until you see what Annabelle is capable of 🙂 I’m super excited for this story to release in May. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by, it’s nice to meet you!!!
