Magic in the air

Yesterday I got my first ever care package from the lovely Lisa who blogs over at Lisa Wields Words. A couple of weeks ago some of my favourite blogs all posted about a certain food product on the same day. I immeadiately felt left out as it’s not sold here in the UK but Lisa solved the problem by sending me some Reese’s peanut butter cups:

For my fellow UK readers, they taste very similar to Kit Kat peanut butter. Lisa didn’t stop there – she also sent me a cute notebook and a book of quotes. She knows how much I love reading inspirational quotes and now I have 8789 to get through!

I flicked open the book of quotes and my eye was instantly drawn to this one:

No bird soars too high, if he soars with his own wings (William Blake)

I love this quote, I’m always banging on about being yourself and following your heart and your dreams so it felt a little bit like fate to stumble straight onto this quote.

Lisa also wrote me a lovely card (I admit I welled up a bit!)

I hope she doesn’t mind me sharing the last line of it as I can’t stop thinking about it. She said “the magic is in the air” – what a beautiful thought. And opening up a package from a blogging friend, I have to agree with her. This community is pretty magical all over. Everyday I’m amazed at the connections I’ve made with people sometimes thousands of miles away, living a completely different life to me yet sharing the same hopes, fears and dreams. Lisa and I often joke we’re sisters from another mother, we often feel the same way at the same time and think alike a lot of the time and if that’s not magic I don’t know what is!

So thank youΒ Lisa for adding some sparkle to my day πŸ™‚

  1. Wow, how sweet is that (I do believe I just accidentally made a pun)?!
I agree, it’s amazing this whole community, especially for people like me who live so far away from…everything ever. There are some incredible people out there, and I am amazed to find myself meeting so many of them here…

  2. Love reese’s cups! You have a great blogger friend., Like you, I love this community. I’ve connected with people all over the world and it’s a wonderful feeling. Maybe someday, I’ll get to meet many of them. Fingers crossed. πŸ™‚ Have a lovely day and I love the quote your friend sent you. It reminds me of the very last 2 lines in “August Rush”. “Music is everywhere. All you have to do is listen.”

  3. How sweet that was of Lisa!! She sounds like a lovely person. πŸ™‚ It IS amazing the connections you make through blogging! Reese’s cups are my absolute fave, I could about make myself sick on them if not careful. πŸ˜€

  4. It was totally my pleasure, Vicky. I had fun getting a little care package together. One little bag of Reese’s just didn’t seem like enough. I’m glad you found the perfect quote for you today. I have a feeling that the magic will lead you to the perfect quote every time.

  5. Lovely post… please send Lisa my name. I am definitely in need of care… I like licorice.

I think; if each morning we think “the magic is in the air”, and then go looking for it, or better yet, try to make some, what could be done with our lives. But then, as I think about it, that’s kind of what we do with our blogs. Nice post, Victoria, my day has started off nicely.

  6. I’ve always loved that Wm. Blake line, and hitting it home with your post and Reese’s pb cups? Great things that go great together. Rockin’ to see the magic between people that flew over the Atl Big Pond making more magic!

  7. What a sweet, peanut-buttery gesture! Lisa is a wonderful, generous soul, and so brilliant to come up with a perfect-fit gift. RPC are one of my TOP favorite candies EVER. You just can’t go wrong with pb & chocolate! Enjoy!

  8. We don’t have those peanut butter cups in Oz either 😦 Oh well, perhaps that’s a good thing!
How kind of Lisa to send you some (as well as the notebook and book of quotes) – what a great blogging buddy you have – but then, this is a great community we have here, where “magic is always in the air”!.
Great post Victoria, thanks for sharing!
