A sea of red

On Tuesday, I headed into London to meet up with blogging buddy Rachel from Freelancing to Freedom (check out her blog if you haven’t already!) who has recently moved over from Canada. We had a lovely lunch then went to see the poppy installation at the Tower of London.

The art installation is called Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red and marks one hundred years since the first full day of Britain’s involvement in the First World War. There are  888,246 ceramic poppies – each poppy representing a British military fatality during the war.

There is literally  sea of poppies surrounding the Tower of London and is a beautiful sight to see. It’s supposed to be taken down next week so hurry along if you haven’t seen it yet!

It was lovely to meet up with Rachel after knowing each other for so many years here on WordPress (more bloggers should definitely come over to see me!) and London was looking beautiful:

  1. Beautiful sites, beautiful company! The photos turned out so well 🙂 Definitely one of the best perks of blogging is getting to meet other lovely bloggers like you! So nice to put a face to the words after all this time.
